Mayan Fire Ceremony - November 30, 2022

I'm grateful to Puma Tzoc and the Elders for the opportunity to take part in the Mayan Fire Ceremony held in Turner, Oregon on November 30. This ceremony takes place to commemorate the Wajxaqib' B'atz' the 260 day's lunar calenar and is recognized as one of the most sacred days of the year. This gathering brought Mayan people, Mexican people, Native American's from the USA from as far away as Los Angeles and included the ordination of Maynor as a new Ajq'ij, an important position of service and sacred responsibility in the Mayan community. I was moved by the spirit of unity and mutual support present. The gathering was a confirmation that we are all one family and that we all worship the same creator.
